Julia Flasphaler is a second-generation mixed Korean American writer based in Southern California. She was born at Yongsan Garrison in Seoul to an American military father and a Korean mother, then moved to the US when she was two. 

Since then, she's lived in Washington, New Hampshire, Connecticut, LA, NYC, and Orange County. She's also studied in Grenoble and Montréal, took eight years to get her BA, has driven cross-country twice, and used to sing constantly. She is obsessed with movies that make you cry and decarceral thinking.
