Julia Flasphaler is a second-generation mixed Korean American writer based in Southern California. She was born at Yongsan Garrison in Seoul to an American military father and a Korean mother, then moved to the US when she was two. Since then, she's lived in Washington state, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Grenoble, Montreal, New York, and California, and calls none, or maybe all, of them home. 

As a college consultant, she has helped students gain admission to Harvard, Stanford, MIT, RISD, NYU Tisch, Cornell, Columbia, USC, UC Berkeley, and more. Her creative writing students have won five YoungArts awards, one John Locke High Commendation, and many Scholastics.
